Common Area

Guests staying at our B&B lodging in Ka’u, can spread out and enjoy many aspects of our property

The Lanai

This is not just the main entrance of the Leilani Bed and Breakfast, but also a common area where guests may read, play games, or talk over travel plans. It is where we serve breakfast and where guests may bring their own dinners to enjoy, as no food or beverages are allowed in the bedrooms. There is an array of tables and chairs for your comfort.

In the lanai you will also find an exercise bicycle and some small hand weights for  your use.

In addition, the lanai serves as our on-site art gallery, and you can just sit back and perhaps recognize some of the places you have already visited on the island.

The Barbecue

We have a large covered barbecue area which can be used rain or shine. See more details on using it here. Besides meals, this is another great gathering area, with multiple tables and chairs.

The Grounds

For those interested in geology, explore the natural beauty of the area strolling through the grounds. For the adventure traveler in you, the area is quite exciting with various types and formations of lava, many left in their original condition when the land was cultivated. Here you can see into three large pukas (lava tube sink holes).

The front of the property is a park-like setting with native ohia trees. A quiet place to read or listen to the birds. You can see the ocean across the tree tops even though it is a few miles away.

Through out the property there are small gardens attracting various birds, geckos, chameleons, and more.
